Now the Christmas season is approaching, which means that many of us will have some time off and spend time with loved ones. The year has been eventful and exciting in many ways, and before the end of the year I want to summarize briefly where we stand and what we have achieved during the year: Even if we do not quite reach the goals in terms of results, we have a high pace in the change work with for the future. We have carried out around 60 reorganizations during the year. The VGG, VGT & Kronobergs, Västra Götaland and Värnamo regions have been converted to 3-day distribution. A test with distributing and sorting in trays has been carried out in parts of Bonway Norr and a large number of emission-free vehicles have been rolled out in our geography and we are taking clear steps towards being an emission-free operation.
We have also carried out some major structural changes where during the year we united the organizations Nim, Hall Media and Prolog under a joint organization and a new joint brand, Bonway. In November, the decision was made that from November 1 next year we plan to take over TAB’s operations. Where we pick up the distribution of newspapers and packages in Dalarna, Gästrikland, Hälsingland, Jämtland/Härjedalen, Medelpad and Ångermanland under our own auspices. It feels very fun and creates exciting opportunities for us going forward. An organization with around 500 extremely competent and committed employees whom I hope to welcome into our business. We have worked intensively during the year to look at new distribution structures in order to both ensure competitiveness going forward and to be able to offer a better working situation for our employees.
In October we switched to full-time employment for our distributors in Södertälje and as previously communicated, we will implement a change in the VGT area where Falköpings Tidning will from January 29 next year change publication days to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and will then be able to use same staff and infrastructure for distribution in Falköping, Skara and Tidaholm. The growth in packages is still strong and we are continuously taking market shares, we have brought in a large number of new customers and are growing strongly both in our local business and our national business. Even home delivery in the evening is now finally starting to take off and is an important complement to our service in order to be able to also deliver slightly more expensive, larger and heavier packages. I am very proud of what we have achieved during the year, but above all I am proud of all our incredibly committed and motivated employees who do that little extra every day. Last but not least, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the past year, and wish you a really nice Christmas and New Year’s weekend! /Philip
